Ingredients (to serve 10 children)

750g chicken fillets (or micoprotein alternative)

1 onion

2 tsp mixed herbs

2 cloves garlic

500ml passatta

2 tbsp tomato puree

900g mixed vegetables

670g brown rice (uncooked weight)

200g mature cheddar cheese



  1. Place all ingredients except the rice and cheese into a slow cooker and cook on high for 5 hours
  2. Cook the rice in a steamer (500g rice : 1 litre of cold water)
  3. Serve with a sprinkling of grated cheese
